A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X-Z DANTE’S INFERNO (35) The last great artistic blockbuster from the Fox Film Corporation before merging with Twentieth Century Pictures not only lovingly re-created the famous Gustave Doré engravings with dozens of flesh and bone extras, but also managed to squeeze the scenes of burning sinners and barely obscured nudity (the most Hollywood would allow for the next 40 years) past the Production Code due to "proper plot motivation" despite the film being condemned by the Legion of Decency for the very same thing. (review by Scott Wallis) OrderTHE DARING DOBERMANS (73) More flea-bitten filching thrills and skills from everyone’s favorite four-legged pack of heist-ready hounds, this time with a political slant! Follow-up to the amazing The Doberman Gang. Letterboxed OrderDARKER THAN AMBER (70) Great little action picture (based on the John D. McDonald "Travis McGee" novel of the same name) starring Rod Taylor, William Smith, and Suzy Kendall. Great looking UNCUT import print with the extended Taylor/Smith ass kicking contest conclusion. English language print with small Danish subtitles. Order DARK EYES (81) aka Demon Rage; Demon Seed; Satan’s Mistress; Fury of the Succubus. Incredibly buxom Bond Girl “Plenty O’Toole” (Lana Wood, the younger and bustier sister of Natalie Wood) stars as a frustrated housewife who’s repeatedly ravished and ravaged by a demon lover in this erotic horror hybrid. Wood spends the majority of the film buck naked and not only has a massive rack, but also has some of the largest areolas your bloodshot orbs are ever likely to have the good fortune to gaze upon! Also starring Britt Ekland (another former Bond Girl) and with a brief appearance by John Carradine Order THE DARK RIDE (79) aka Killer’s Delight. Sleazy slasherthon from the sick, sick ‘70s that looks like it’s loosely based on the antics of Ted Bundy and/or Ed Kemper (take your pick). John Karlen (who played the mild mannered hubby on TV’s Cagney and Lacey!) stars as a creepy momma’s boy who trolls for hitchhiking hotties in his dingy panel van. Once he’s lured the tender young things into his rolling torture chamber he trusses them up, has his way with ‘em, does away with ‘em and then litters the Bay Area with their bodies like so many candy wrappers. Order DAY OF THE WOLVES (73) Ingenious low budget heist film about a criminal mastermind who recruits an elite crew of stick up men and together they hold an isolated town hostage and rob it blind. These guys have never met before and are only known to each other by number (the kingpin is “Number One” the next guy’s “Number Two” etc.), plus they all wear full beards to make identification by witnesses more difficult. So you’ve got this little burgh set upon by a pack of hard cases who all look like Fidel Castro in a business suit and the whole thing’s backed by a funky ‘70s “wah wah” soundtrack. Very cool! Order DEADHEAD MILES (72) Alan Arkin's Cooper is a less-than-reputable redneck trucker who jumps mental ship during the hauling of a hijacked rig, kicks out his co-driver, picks up a hitchhiker, and heads west for a cameo-spotted journey of compulsion and road movie quirkiness populated almost exclusively by Cooper and his tramp companion (Paul Benedict). Directed by Vernon Zimmerman (Unholy Rollers) and written by Terrence Malick (Badlands). Fair quality print from broadcast. (review by Scott Wallis) OrderTHE DEADLY AND THE BEAUTIFUL (73) aka Wonder Women. Shades of Invasion of the Bee Girls in this little-seen Filipino-lensed number starring Nancy Kwan and Ross Hagen. Includes trailer. Order DEAFULA (75) aka Young Deafula. "THIS MOVIE WAS PRODUCED FOR DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING AUDIENCES... WITH THIS IN MIND, WE WILL PROVIDE AS LITERAL A VOICE TRACK AS POSSIBLE TO HELP YOU FOLLOW THE STORY." But this is more than a mere oddity or curiosity, ladies and gentlemen-- this is SIGNOSCOPE! Life began for Steve Adams ("A piteous victim of ancestry.") with his mother's death during childbirth, and was compounded by a mysterious blood disease, for which his holy father must transfuse some of his own blood once a month to keep Steve in the pink. He grows up to be a morally conflicted son of a preacher man with a bloodlust that just won't quit, leaving a trail of corpses with strange holes in the necks and a lot less red in the veins. Best described as a surprisingly solid yet moody Carl Theodor Dreyer student film getting manhandled by Ray Dennis Steckler on his best day, this is the first of three films (and counting!) to be made the SIGNOSCOPE way, in which all the actors perform their dialogue with American sign language. And as if it couldn't be weird enough, prepare to become the jaw that dropped 'round the world when you get a gander at Zork, the gimpy Igor-type, who has (read it out loud) SOUP CANS FOR HANDS!! The end. Order now. (review by Scott Wallis) Order DEATH WEEKEND (76) aka The House by the Lake. Overlooked roughie revenge saga from William Fruet, featuring excellent performances by Don Stroud and Brenda Vaccaro. Vaccaro plays a self-assured young woman who’s off to spend a weekend by the lake with creepy orthodontist Chuck Shamata. Enroute they piss off a carload of hot rodding good old boys (Stroud and company) who follow the couple up to their retreat and attack and brutalize them. Completely UNCUT print (in great quality) with all the gore trimmed from other versions. Order DEATH WISH CLUB (83) aka Carnival of Fools. Guy falls in love with the bed thrasher he sees in a stag film. Turns out she's a local night club performer who can't decide if she's a woman or a man. Plus, she likes to hang out with a bunch of weirdos who pass the time playing unusual variations of Russian roulette! Rare UNCUT print of this weirdy from writer/director John Carr. OrderDERANGED (74) Not only do you get a copy of the UNCUT letterboxed edition of this long lost drive-in classic, complete with Tom Karr's short documentary Ed Gein: An American Maniac, but we'll also slap on the little-seen theatrical trailer at no extra charge! What a deal! Order THE DEVIL’S WIDOW (70) aka Tam Lin; The ballad of Tam Lin; The Devil’s Woman. Inspired by a virginity-snatching character from Scottish folklore, this mysticism-infused modern tale stars a gracefully aging Ava Gardener using a bundle of money and a bit of the dark arts to surround herself with virility and youth. But if you try to leave, boy, you better run! Directed by Roddy McDowell and distributed by American International Pictures. Letterboxed OrderTHE DEVIL WITH HITLER (42) aka The Devil Checks Up. The Board of Directors down in Hell declare that The Devil Himself is out of touch with the times and are determined to replace Him with the only one evil and sadistic enough to reign supreme in today's Underworld– Adolf Hitler! The terms? If the Big D can prove within 48 hours that der Führer has a soft spot in his hard heart, Ol' Slewfoot's top chef spot at the infernal soul food shop will remain intact. From the studio famous for Laurel & Hardy and The Little Rascals, this became a significant piece of the comic blueprint for all subsequent Hitler caricatures during wartime. Political correctness is zestfully thrown to the fucking wolves as 'Dolf is perfectly played as a juvenile brainfart with too much power and no responsibility, and his Axis bedfellows, Italy and Japan, are represented by harshly ridiculous racial stereotypes that would reduce the 21st century talk show circuit into a foamy mess of outrage. Great stuff!! B&W Fair quality. (review by Scott Wallis) Order DIARY OF A SINNER (74) A sleazy pimp and wannabe actor meets a suicidal ex-priest and dares him to indulge all of his most base carnal desires for a week before killing himself. The former padre says "what the Hell?" and the two of them embark on a sex and crime spree across an unsuspecting Toronto. An ultra-obscure Canuxploitation (that’s exploitation from Canada, eh?) rarity directed by Ed Hunt, with a theme song by Bo Diddley! Order DIRTY O’NEIL (74) aka Dirty O’Neil: Love Life of a Cop.Long lost sexploitation cash-in on the Dirty Harry saga stars Morgan Paull as Jimmy "Dirty" O’Neil a hardcase cop who likes busting heads and banging broads. Wonderful drive-in swill the likes of which we may never see again. From broadcast. Order THE DOBERMAN GANG (72) “Clockwork canines trained to rip off banks with mechanical precision!” Named after history’s most infamous bank robbers, this pack of pilfering Pinschers are naturally equipped to carry out the perfect crime. The training scenes are a sight to behold! Starring one of Dave Friedman’s old cohorts, Byron Mabe. Letterboxed OrderDOCTORS' WIVES (70) Attention, Love Machine fans! Fabulous Dyan Cannon joins forces again with divine Moss Mabry, Faggotry's all-time favorite costume designer, for this overheated "adult drama " about, you guessed it, the spoiled spouses of philandering physicians! Featuring up-to-the-minute technology like car-phones, open-heart surgery stock footage and interracial dating, it's a totally underrated camp classic. Dyan, looking exactly like a young Jan Crouch, plays the Queen Bee of her horny clique and pisses them all off by banging everything in scrubs then bragging about it, setting the stage for murder! The docs include Richard Crenna, Gene Hackmann(!), Carroll O'Connor (!!!) and George ("Punky Brewster") Gaynes and the script's by the late great Daniel Taradash, who alternated between Oscar-nominees and juicy florid trash like this. Janice Rule gets to wear the most insane outfits as Gene's junkie wife. The comic relief is supposed to be pixie/nympho Kristina Holland as a med student who tape records running commentary during sexual encounters, but it's really Rachel Roberts and the most unintentionally hilarious lesbian-confession monologue you'll ever hear. Still need more gay? Fine. Mama Cass warbles the god-awful theme song! Rated R. Includes trailer. (review by Christian McLaughlin) Order DON’T WORRY, WE’LL THINK OF A TITLE (66) Russian spies complicate the simple lives of The Dick Van Dyke Show's Morey Amsterdam & Rose Marie in this yuck-hustling mishmash of mistaken identities, bookstores, and cosmonauts featuring a slew of walk-ons ranging from Playboy Playmate Arline Hunter and aging Stooge Moe Howard, to heavy-hitters Steve Allen, Milton Berle, and Carl Reiner. B&W Fair Quality. (review by Scott Wallis) OrderDRAGON LADY (73) aka Wit’s End; G.I. Executioner. Rare 42nd Street exploitation shocker from Joel Bloodsucking Freaks Reed stars Angelique Pettyjohn’s 40DD knockers and features "the wildest nude shootout in film history!" This is the impossible to find import version under the original grindhouse title of Dragon Lady. Order DR. CALIGARI (89) Stephen "Rinse Dream" Sayadian pulls out all the stops in this bizarre take on the Expressionist classic. Hip, surreal, and about a million times weirder than Cafe Flesh (but without as much sex, dammit). With Madeleine Reynal, Laura Albert, John Durbin (in an over-the-top performance as a crazed cannibal), and Fox Harris in his last role (Fox drove the carload of radioactive aliens in Repo Man). "I know you're watching me!" Order DR. MINX (75) Russ Meyer girl Edy Williams puts the soft X into Rx as a hot-to-trot doc who knows how to keep a pulse in check, either on the operating table or underneath it. No one is immune when this vixen operates! “One visit is never enough.” Order DRIVE-IN (76) Wonderfully entertaining comedy about teens (and adults) gathering at a drive-in movie in a small Texas town in the mid 70's. Lisa Lemole is wonderful as the femme fatale who switches romantic partners mid-movie. DRIVE-IN features romance, gang violence, wonderful moments between two brothers, and enough slapstick comedy to satisfy almost anyone! And, let's not forget the movie-within-a-movie, "Disaster '76". which is the movie that's playing at the...DRIVE-IN! Highly recommended! Order DUFFY (68) James Coburn (who once tagged this as favorite of his own films) is the hip namesake who accepts an offer by a pair of bitter brothers to play grand larcenist which promises to pay off big in all four pockets. Suzannah York shakes things up in mod style as a distracting dish that fits comfortably in Duffy's self-styled "pop-porno" bachelor pad, with James Mason adding British bite to this capricious escapade.
