Umberto Lenzi horror/giallo about obnoxious tourists getting their peepers gouged out while sightseeing in Italy. Political statement or wish fulfillment on Lenzi's part? Letterboxed. Order

THE EYE BEHIND THE WALL (77) aka The Crystal Man; L’ Occhio Dietro La Parete; Regarde Intime; Voyeur Pervers. Rich, wheelchair bound pervert (Fernando Rey) and his equally kinky wife (Olga Bisera) get their kicks by renting out their specially designed guest house and spying on the tenants’ sex lives through a series of microphones, telescopes, and hidden cameras. Little do they know their latest border (John Phillip Law) is a sex-crazed serial killer! To up the ante Rey encourages Bisera to begin an affair with Law which she enthusiastically agrees to. What he doesn’t count on is the two of them falling in love! Of course it all ends in disaster and tragedy, but getting there is half the fun. And if all this weren’t enough, there’s an equally twisted subplot involving a servant with a thing for young schoolgirls! A real weird one and quite rare. Nice quality letterboxed Italian language print. Order

Flashbacks, mind control and an astronaut left to die are the ingredients of this offbeat and obscure psychological thriller that has absolutely nothing to do with the cheesy yet touching religious plaque of the same name. FORMULA FOR A MURDER (85) aka 22 Hyden Park; 7 Hyde Park; 7 Hyden Park: La Casa Maledetta (7 Hyden Park: The Accursed House). Rare English language print of this sick and sacreligious horror/giallo from Italy starring David Warbeck (R.I.P.) and Rosanno Brazzi. Many MANY priests bite the dust in this one, as they're stabbed repeatedly, have their throats slashed, and are beaten to death with religious artifacts. Keep the faith baby! Order

FOUR FLIES ON GREY VELVET (71) aka Four Flies on Gray Velvet; Four Patches of Grey Velvet; Quaitro Mosche di Velutto Grigio; Quatre Mouches de Velours Gris. FINALLY a complete, UNCUT letterboxed print of this early Dario Argento giallo about a hot young rock musician (Michael Brandon) pulled into a paranoid twilight world of nightmarish suspense when he accidentally kills a stalker in a creepy abandoned theatre in the movie's pulse-pounding opening sequence. Mimsy Farmer does her neurotic Euro-starlet thing as Michael's high-strung wife, Jean-Pierre Marielle is a fruity private eye, and Ennio Morricone kicks ass on the soundtrack. As usual, the breathless, nutty giallo-finalo will have you clutching your J&B in amazement. (review by Christian McLaughlin) Order

GIALLO A VENEZIA (79) aka Gore in Venice; Murder in Venice; Thrilling in Venice. Hands down the BLOODIEST, SLEAZIEST giallo of all time! Near hardcore sex and tons of violence as nude babes are slapped and whipped, a reluctant slut is viciously violated by two fishermen while her boyfriend gleefully watches, men are burned alive and stabbed in the crotch, scissors are repeatedly rammed into a hooker's hoo-hoo, and, in the most revolting scene, a sunglassed killer slowly and lovingly saws off a naked woman's leg while she screams for mercy! No doubt about it, this is one sick puppy! Italian language. GIRL IN ROOM 2A (75) aka La Case della Paura (The House of Fear). Women are trapped, tortured, and stabbed with spears (and that's just in the first five minutes!) in this sleazy Eurotrash confusion starring Raf Vallone as the leader of a cult of red-hooded killers. With a guest appearance by Rosalba Neri. Includes trailer. Order

THE IGUANA WITH A TONGUE OF FIRE (71) aka L'iguana dalla lingua di fuoco, Die Bestie mit dem feurigen Atem.  The giallo-licious title has absolutely niente to do with this jaw-droppingly muddled Irish-German-Italian mystery about an acid-flinging throat-slasher terrorizing the family of the Swiss Ambassador to Dublin (Anton Diffring).  A troubled ex-cop (Luigi Pistilli) tries to make sense of it, and like us, fails.  The only decent special effects are when Luigi's cat is decapitated.  Fair quality print dubbed in English, so you get to hear a bunch of dubiously European actors try to fake a dizzying variety of accents, and fail! LIBIDO (65) Rare B&W Italian psycho thriller from the sicko sixties. While playing with his Mr. Peanut music box(?!) a young boy witnesses his father murdering his mistress at their seaside villa. Years later he, his girlfriend, and another couple return to the same house and straaaange things start to happen. Is he going mad or is someone pulling the old Gaslight routine on him? Only Mr. Peanut knows for sure! A very cool little movie (despite its lack of subtitles) somewhat reminiscent of Dog Eat Dog. Order

MURDER IN PARIS (72)  aka Casa d'appuntamento, Auge des Bosen, Der Ripper kommt auf leisen Sohlen, French Sex Murders, Murder on 17th Avenue, The Bogeyman & The French Murders, Paris Sex Murders.  A high-strung wack-job is accused of murdering a French whore in Anita Ekberg's posh brothel and is sentenced to death, but when he escapes from prison, heads will roll.  Literally.  Cheesy severed heads start bouncing all over Paris and mad scientist Howard Vernon (from every Jess Franco movie) gets the police to give him one so he can study the eyeballs.  Humphrey Bogart impersonator Robert Sacchi wanders through as the lead cop and there's generous nudity.  Co-starring Rosalba Neri and Barbara Bouchet.  Nice quality English-language letterboxed print reverts to non-subtitled French for one minute to confuse you even more. Is the culprit her opium smoking, bondage enthusiast of an ex-husband, her extremely jealous live-in girl toy, or...? Kinky futuristic giallo from Piccio Raffanini stars Virginia Hey, Gerard Darmon, and Carlo Mucari. Order

A QUIET PLACE TO KILL (70)  aka Paranoia, A Beautiful Place To Kill, Un tranquilo lugar para matar,  Una droga llamada Helen.  The second Carroll Baker/Umberto Lenzi confection skimps on the nudity, gore and camp but delivers consistently entertaining suspense, with Baker as a race-car driver (!) invited by her sleazebag ex-husband (hunky Jean Sorel)'s lez-curious wife (Anna Proclemer) to their seaside Spanish villa to offer Carroll the chance to help bump off the philandering gigolo neither woman can stand.  Things don't go as planned, thanks to some juicy double-crosses, a home movie camera, and Anna's bitchy teen daughter.  Begging for a glossy trash remake with Naomi Watts, Stuart Townsend and Leighton Meester.  Paging Paul Verhoeven....!  (review by Christian McLaughlin) Order

Great "schoolgirl sex crime" giallo stars Fabio Testi as a detective investigating the dildo murder of a teenager at a private girls school. Turns out she and her classmates were running a sex’n’vice ring where "rich and influential men pay well for teenage favors." Cooool. With sordid orgy flashbacks, a graphic backstreet abortion, numerous shower scenes, and plenty of violence. How can you go wrong? Order

SO SWEET, SO DEAD! (73) aka The Slasher is the Sex Maniac; So Sweet, So Dead; Bad Girls; Penetration; Rivelazioni di un Maniaco; El Capo della Squadra Mobile. Apparently there were a helluva lot of guys sneaking around Italy with black hats, gloves and long, pointy knives back in the '70s. This one filets unfaithful wives and leaves en flagrante photos behind to justify his actions. Stars Farley Granger as a homicide detective with a few domestic problems of his own. Real nasty trash with an ending that should have you running for the shower! Rereleased in '75 with added hardcore sex scenes under the witty retitling of Penetration. Uncut letterboxed English language print with Greek subtitles. Order
